A red silk doublet and grey wool petticoat

The doublet is made of a red silk shantung, trimmed with velvet ribbon and purchased silver trim. The puffs are white linen.
The grey wool petticoat has two bands of red velvet guarding the hem. This is meant to be along the lines of the German style
doublet and skirt ensemble in figures 302 and 303 of Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 1560-1620.
